The students watch a plastic facts presentation and students learned why they should pack a trash free lunch and use reusable containers. They also learn ways to reduce their carbon footprint.

July 16th, BYO Darien Presented the newest research and current status on plastic issues around the world and in our community.
July 12th, 13th and 15th, BYO Darien asked the community about their needs for plastic bags and we presented the actual issue on plastic.
On July 22nd, 2018 we cleaned up the Noroton River water way that ends up in the Long Island Sound. We collected about 90 pounds of trash among them were: plastic bags, balloons,straws, glass bottles, aluminum cans, bottles caps,food wrap,etc.
In August, BYO Darien members visited most of the businesses in town to understand their needs for checkout bags.
On August 30th, first day of school, BYO Darien presented a Skip the Straw pledge for the students of the Darien Middle School. We have invited the students to stop using the straws take the pledge and ask their friends to take the pledge to skip the straws.
We presented the story of food wasted. Speaker Carolyn Bayne explain the new compost program to be launch in Darien October 12th.
On October 3rd, people came from everywhere to see this epic global adventure searching for whales and found plastic in the most pristine oceans in the world.
BYO Darien presented the Movie Straws at the DEPOT on Friday September 28th.
